Old Jokes

The show begins with a conversation about the passing of Glenn Frey and his legacy, and then Rob makes it weird. Marcus has some questions about audience etiquette for the upcoming Mohegan Sun comedy show he plans to attend. Joe’s ego requires that he rub elbows with audience members after he performs well, but this practice backfires when one woman approached him at a recent show. Rob wonders if Joe is doing a satisfactory job of plugging their projects. Rob and Joe agree with a new study’s conclusion that comedians, as a group, demonstrate psychotic tendencies. Rob is confused by the overnight stardom of an actor. Marcus is finally called-out for  screwing around the show ending music. Joe has a coincidence involving a professional hula hooper.

Great At Lines

Rob ingratiating himself with a well-known actor/comedian leads to a prime casino gig. Joe, feeling pressure to complete the next murder mystery script, works on it without Rob who is not thrilled about it. Joe rails against those who would make snap judgments about a person’s bigotry. The two recent examples he cites of those wrongly maligned are Sylvester Stallone and Joe himself. Robby shows his competitive side. Joe is very pleased with himself and brags about his public mocking of the Vikings’ crushing loss. Mike Chamberlin submits his version of the now infamous rant. The recent murder mystery show at the DC Improv was a huge success in spite of Joe picking an audience member to participate could barely read. Nothing goes right for Rob during his recent trip to perform at the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey.

Smile Hostage

When Robby forgets to hit record on the first half-hour of the show, adjustments to the usual format must be made on the fly. Joe’s Christmas was filled with disappointment and awkwardness compared to Rob’s which was relatively uneventful. The overwhelming popularity of the of the most recent murder mystery created some additional family-related headaches for Joe. Robby announces that he will again participate in The Bachelor fantasy league from which he had previously been ejected for suspicion of cheating, and Rob and Joe decide to do their own mini-league for this season. The passing of Motörhead front man Lemmy Kilmister apparently completes and strange death trifecta. Chris Restivo is now bombarding Rob with recorded messages, hoping to have them played on the show. Rob and Joe consider candidates for the next “Listener of the Year”. When two women walk out on the murder mystery, its creators wear it as a badge of honor.

Tanning Your Junk

The best way to start your holidays, according to Rob and Joe, is by listening to episode #224 while your drive past all the Christmas lights in your neighborhood. The show gets rolling with props for Marcus’s Star Wars prediction and the show’s rankings for the week of the on-air fight. Restivo performs Joe’s rant from that show and everyone agrees that he actually did a great job. Not coincidentally, Joe give his interpretation of Chris’s vicious voicemail message (from the same episode) on stage, but with a twist. Rob is now even more eager to move after a neighbor knocked on their door to make an odd request. Rob launches into an interrogation, and Joe proclaims his innocence after he is practically named as the prime suspect in a felony investigation. Tommy Sinbazo shares his feelings on Star Wars: The Force Awakens (no spoilers). Joe miscalculates the amount of time he should spend in a tanning bed and his bad decision-making doesn’t end there. Steve Harvey blows it at the Miss Universe pageant, and Joe thinks this will be a boost to the comedian’s career.

Raking PTSD

Rob and Joe follow-up on the fight between the Robinson brothers last week. Ultimately it seems that everyone would really prefer to limit Restivo’s participation in the show. The Merry Murder Mystery debut is a success…with a mess. After four and a half years, suddenly there is debate over show’s closing music. Rob is incredulous when his Cards Against Humanity answers are instantly dismissed at a recent get-together. Howard Stern is in the news and Rob and Joe have thoughts on his satellite radio contract, his career and his comments on podcasting. With Rob’s girlfriend being a brand new homeowner, he is concerned that he’s not a handy-around-the-house type of guy. Joe confesses that his ability to do some chores is hindered by childhood trauma. There are warning signs that Rob’s next gig for the troops overseas might be a lot more dangerous this time. Some predictions are made about the reaction to Star Wars: Episode VII.

Joe is a F@#%ing Douchebag

Robby is asked to explain a comment that happened during this year’s Robinson Thanksgiving tradition. Rob gets aggravated by some fans of the visiting team at a Lakers/Wizards game. Rob gets a series of vicious messages from a retired ‘comedian’ that are all tirades about Joe. Rob receives some SPAM email that hits a little too close to home. Real emotions flare when Robby is coaxed into talking about feeling slighted last week.

Foot Cramp

Rob and Joe are without Robby and the chat again. They talk about both, and why their absentee producer is so mad. There is more news on the Mystery Science Theater  reboot. The show’s star even appeared on TMOS this past week, and Rob and Joe disagree with his comments regarding comedy in the DC area. Rob and Joe also discuss their own upcoming MST-style show. Joe confesses to not watching TV shows that nearly every other American has seen. Even after Rob emphatically disparages his own abilities when it comes to a very simple choreographed dance number for the upcoming murder mystery, Joe is still astonished by his total lack of ability.

Would You Heckle a Hologram?

The show proceeds without Marcus’s oversight and Joe’s microphone is suddenly malfunctioning. Joe is competing for ‘likes’ with his wolf fleece Facebook post. Rob encounters a new performer who wears a t-shirt and shorts on stage and throws-up before each show. Rob expresses his frustration with the amount of music during their post-game show. Marcus told Rob that he would attend his casino show in Connecticut, but no one else seems eager to make that trip. Rob and his girlfriend are once again declining to attend the Robinson Thanksgiving gathering even though it is superior to almost any other plans they could possibly have. Rob announces that his girlfriend is purchasing house in her name only. An announcement about two dead comedians performing as holograms lead Rob and Joe to question who would actually want this. On the heals of more Scott Apple adventures, Rob and Joe wonder if horse riding pants are unisex, and reveal how much drinking causes him to be an hour late for work. Rob believes that there is a comedy devolution happening after watching a classic video on Youtube. Joe wonders if a project that relies on crowd-funding is a legitimate career opportunity.

Butthole Content

Robby’s plate is full after being away for 2 weeks and Rob and Joe are tiptoeing around him fearing his wrath. This makes for an awkward and uncomfortable opening to the show. Rob has an encounter with an audience member who has a disturbing tattoo placement. Rob and Joe cover the breaking news on Charlie Sheen and the big upset of Rousey in the UFC. Joe's losing streak with the Ravens continues along with the post-game show troubles. Rob commits to the bit. Robby is debriefed with regard to his travels. Joe shares Scott Apple’s most recent ridiculousness.

Robby is the Key

Rob and Joe soldier on with Robby still in a far away land, making their best guesses about his time overseas based solely on his social media posts. The change in dynamic without his presence on the show is also discussed. Observations are shared on prostitutes and Quentin Tarantino. Rob and Joe swap personal stories about a well-known comedian, and about performing in front of their parents. A surprise call during the show from Robby answers some of the earlier questions. Joe discusses the woes of Mickey Cucchiella and urges fans to attend their upcoming show together.
